Flight planning

Understand the Paris airport code

Charles de Gaulle (CDG) is the principal international hub and has rail and road links to Paris. Orly (ORY) serves many European and other routes south of the city. Beauvais (BVA) is considerably farther away and usually requires dedicated ground transport.

Compare the airport with your hotel district, onward train station and arrival hour. A low fare to a distant airport may not produce the simplest trip.

Flight planning

Build a realistic city-break schedule

For a short stay, arrival and departure times can matter as much as fare. Check the time needed for airport formalities and the transfer into the city.

Review cabin baggage limits carefully, particularly when comparing airlines with different personal-item rules.
